Students who successfully complete the course should be able to:

  • Final 399 - Report of Investigation

    By the end of FINA 399 - Report of Investigation, the students will be able to:

    • Develop time management skills and demonstrate they can undertake independent work and provide original and critical analysis.
    • Demonstrate they can undertake research that leads to an in-depth literature review for a topic.
    • Demonstrate they can critically evaluate the existing theoretical and empirical evidence that exists on their topic of research.
    • Develop database management skills and undertake competent large scale data collection from designated databases and order data in a way appropriate for estimation.
    • Form a valid research question or hypothesis to examine empirically or through use of a theoretical model.
    • Investigate and apply appropriate empirical methodologies to the data in order to examine the research question.
    • Discuss and present the implications and conclusions from the perspective of the relationship to hypothesis tested, extant literature and the background theories.
